Golf Villas Drainage Improvements

Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 132 (“MUD132”) has engaged a contractor to construct drainage improvements in and around the Golf Villas of Atascocita community (“Golf Villas”). The purpose of the project is to address persistent flooding and standing water concerns in Golf Villas and along adjacent roadways in the Pinehurst Section 1 subdivision, including Pinehurst Trail Drive, Seventeenth Green Drive, and Twelfth Fairway Lane.

The project will include construction of new storm sewer lines in Golf Villas and a new detention pond on the adjacent golf course property. The outfall for the detention pond will be a new 24” storm sewer line that will drain east and will connect to the existing storm sewer line on Sunny Shores Drive. The project will involve construction of new storm sewer lines on 18th Fairway Drive and Golf Villas Drive in Golf Villas, which will necessitate removal and replacement of existing concrete pavement roadway. Construction activity in this area will be staged in a way to ensure that residents have continuous access to their homes and driveways.

A drainage analysis and construction plans for the project have been approved by Harris County Engineering. The contractor on the project has obtained all applicable permits from the Harris County Permits office.

The total amount of the construction contract is $764,003.01. A Notice to Proceed has been issued effective August 17, 2026, and per the terms of the contract, construction is to be substantially complete within 45 calendar days.

MUD132’s board of directors has taken steps to expedite and improve the construction process through such actions as extensive vetting of potential contractors, establishment of the position of an Owner’s Rep to track construction progress and handle resident interaction, and utilization of economic incentives and disincentives in the construction contract to encourage timely completion of the project.
